PIMIL’S HISTORIC MISSION TRIP TO LIBERIA was for ten days. It was led by the director of PIMIL, Rev. Abeoseh Flemister of St. Matthew’s. The purpose of the trip was Building Relationships with the students and their families whom PIMIL had, and was sponsoring since 1998. The trip welcomed whomever wanted to go. It was the first trip since its establishment officially in 2005.

PIMIL’S HISTORIC MISSION TRIP TO LIBERIA was for ten days, April 10th – 20th, 2018. It was led by the director of PIMIL, Rev. Abeoseh Flemister of St. Matthew’s. The purpose of the trip was Building Relationships with the students and their families whom PIMIL had, and was sponsoring since 1998. The trip welcomed whomever wanted to go. It was the first trip since its establishment officially in 2005. The delegation of five that included two professional American-Muslim whose original birth country was Pakistan, visited three of the eight counties in which PIMIL is sponsoring students. Liberia is divided into 15 counties. The delegation was accorded a wonderful hospitality from the Bishop of The Episcopal Church of Liberia represented by the Vicar General of the Diocese, Canon Dr. James B. Sellee, Dean of Trinity Cathedral, Monrovia and at the various locations. The Bishop of the Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Jonathan B. B. Hart was away. Highlights of the Trip included visitation to schools, including Muslim schools, holding of workshops and of the presenting of school supplies, witnessing a traditional welcome ceremony, interacting and establishing relationships with the students, teachers, church and community leaders of both faiths.
Observing some of the challenges that face the schools and having an interview with the premium Newspaper in Liberia, The Daily Observer, and attending a farewell reception hosted by Rev. Flemister’s family in Monrovia. The delegation covered some 600 miles and met about 400 persons including about thirty five Ebola orphans. From comments and evaluation of the trip, the mission was successful.
